10/23/21 Mia Day Visit

To help Marissa out, Sue drove down to Dover with Beau to pick Mia up for a short day visit Saturday morning 10/23/21.

On the way up here, they stopped to walk Beau on part of the Rail Trail out to the waterfall. After they got here I fixed chicken salad sandwiches with chips for lunch, and then Sue took Mia out to the barn to do another pottery project.

I can only take credit for assisting with setting up the work area outside. Even though it was chilly in the slight breeze that was blowing, Sue thought it would be nice in the sun for her and Mia to throw some clay around. And it was, and they had a ball!

We were both surprised at how much more patience and control Mia had as she worked as compared to her last visit (09/18/21: Mia Overnight Visit) where she was a little scattered because it was her first time ever working with a pottery wheel.

Hope you enjoy the pictures of her and Sue at the pottery wheel!

Wet clay was, of course, every—where: all over the table, the driveway, her fingers, and even a big splotch on her right cheek.

Real progress for a 6 year old who only did this once just a month ago! Good job, Mia!
