We had Mia for another short overnight visit Saturday 09/18/21.

Sue had wanted to get Mia onto the pottery wheel that she had bought her at Christmas before the weather turned too cold to do it out in the barn. Good thing she made it over because the weather over the next week was not only really chilly, but many - most - days were rainy.

Sue occupied her for most of the time, and they just had so much fun. Since Sue was so busy doing stuff with her, I was in charge of taking pictures.

I met up with Marissa in the morning to get Mia, and then drove her to one of the parking areas off the rail trail to meet up with Sue and Beau so they could take Beau for a walk.

Sunday morning after breakfast, I drove Mia home so that she could go out on the boat with Marissa and Gary as it was such a nice day.

While I was driving Mia home, Sue took Beau for a walk so that when we both got back we could head out kayaking!

After getting back from walking Beau, the girls sat down on the screen porch scanning through a book.

Mia had been asking Sue all kinds of questions about some of the mushrooms Sue and been pointing out to her, and so when they got back to the house, Sue showed Mia how to research a mushroom to see if it was safe or not as many are dangerous to even touch.

Sue asked Mia if she wanted to help peel some of the apples we had picked at Butternut Farm 09/12/21, and then help fixing applesauce later. Mia, of course, was all over that!

Before heading outside to play with Beau, Sue and Mia put together a nice table display of leaves and acorns that Mia had scrounge from outside when She and Sue had gone around to the front of the house and picked some blackberries.

Good thing they did that not only outside, but even outside of the barn because there was so much water and clay splattered all over not only them, but the asphalt around the table that everything, including them, had to be sprayed down with the hose after they were done.

Not bad for a first try!

After getting cleaned up from their pottery adventure, it was time to make applesauce!

Dinner was just simple dogs and beans, and it was mah-vo-loose!

Sunday morning, Mia wanted pancakes, and so she and Sue got right to it.

Mia got a "Mr. Bear" pancake with blueberries for eyes!
