Monday 11/11/24 Sue had been wanting to go on an explore up to some of the beaches in Wells, ME, and so we hopped into the car, and off we went!
Though a pretty day, the wind was blowing really hard along the coast.
When we got out of the car, the wind just whipped sand all around us, and the breeze had a damp ocean cold to it.
My leg was giving me a lot of grief, and so walking any distance over the shifting sand would not have been the best thing for me to do. So, while Sue went off onto one beach stretching around a point of land, I opted for a quick walk up to the end of the parking lot and over a small part of packed beach sand to look at the ocean. The wind was whipping the tops of the choppy, but large waves off and sending frothy green water flying through the air.
It was late in the afternoon when Sue got back to the car and was ready to head for a place to grab an early dinner. What better place to go for a juicy hamburger than The 99 in Dover? So, off we went across the back roads for a pretty drive just as the sun was dropping toward the horizon.
Sue heading off around the point, head down looking for treasures.
View across the harbor channel from the parking lot.
We took Route 1 south, pulling off and going into beautiful Perkins Cove in Ogunquit, ME. Ogunquit is a really pretty ocean side town, and Perkins Cove is one of our favorite places just to stop in whenever we are in the area.
