05/05/24: Mia's Last Home Field Lacrosse Game

It was a windy and cold day for Mia's final home field Lacrosse game.

The Dover courthouse fields are always windy and chilly, but the weather today for early May was actually cold.

We were fortunate that the rain held off until the game was over, and folks had packed up their cars and were on the drive out.

In fact, it was so raw out that I got a fire blazing in the woodstove later that evening as Sue and I settled into playing some backgammon with a glass of wine before dinner.

Mia at 8 years old is as fierce on field as her mom had been as a star player in high school.

I started cooking - and continuing to sip wine - about 5:00pm.

Not sure what Mia had for dinner that night to celebrate, but we toasted her with a wonderful bottle of 7 Deadly Sins Zinfandel complemented with my on the fly spicy shrimp mixed with bok choy and herb sauteed mushrooms with a side of garlic and ginger root spinach in a light cream sauce.
