01/29/24: Snow Storm Drops Another 9 Inches

It started snowing during the night and when we got up there was an additional 9 inches of snow that had fallen onto the 6 remaining from the last storm. It was just spectacularly beautiful.

She had grabbed her snowshoes late morning and taken Beau for a walk in the woods out back. She came back exhausted as it was a lot of snow to go through. So, I took him out later that afternoon to give her a break, but I didn't use snowshoes. I just threw my snow boots and gaters on, and off we went.

I just loved walking among all the trees with snow weighted branches bent way over - in some cases all the way down to the snow. Beau would bound ahead of me for awhile, and then hang back as I'd pass him off in the woods sniffing. But that was just a ploy to let me go first and break through the deep snow.

When I got back, I was really pooped out. But I had spent an hour earlier that morning raking the snow off the roof, shoveling out around one of the cars, and then clearing the snow around one of the wood piles. No wonder I was ready to call it a day when I got back from walking Beau!
