10/24/23: Sue Out Patient Surgery

Tuesday 10/24/23 I took Sue in for out patient surgery. She was not a happy camper because not only no food since the night before, but no c-o-f-f-e-e!

Everyone there took such good care of her, explaining each step in the process, and constantly making sure she was comfortable.

Finally, in secondary recovery after having her gall bladder removed, she got some food and a cup of coffee.

It was a sunny but crisp late Fall day outside the recovery room window with a brisk breeze blowing browned fallen leaves around.

You won't believe this - we still don't - but as I was loading Sue into the car to bring her home, a hornet landed on her lap. When she flapped the blanket to shoo him off, the sum-bitch stung her on her left thumb!

By the time I got her home and settled into a comfortable position, her thumb had swelled up quite a bit. She insisted that the sting hurt worse that having gall bladder surgery!
