Sue drove down to Dover, NH Monday 08/28/23 pick Mia up for a few days visit.
Swayzie and Rezleigh came over for lunch so the girls could play a little bit. Mia was soooo good with little Rezleigh, she's just going to be a wonderful sister when Marissa's new baby is born.
Tuesday, we drove up to Meredith, NH at the top of Lake Winnipesaukee so we could take Mia to our favorite bookstore, the small indi Innisfree Bookshop.
We have taken Mia there a couple of times in the past, and bought series books that she enjoys. So, after buying Mia the next book in the series she wanted, we drove across Rts. 3 and 25, and then 113 to walk though the trails at the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center in Holderness, NH. What a great place that is! Though Sue had been there before, it was my first time, and I'd love to go back again.
From there, we drove over to spend the night at Sue's brother's camp on Ossipee Lake. I just love that place: so peaceful and calm in a very rustic cabin.
There's a small sandy beach just below the deck that Mia has swum in before. This time, the girls couldn't wait to get the kayaks into the water. They were off paddling all the way out to the small island just off the cove the cabin sits in.
Sue and I drove over later that afternoon to pick up a couple of pizzas that we all enjoyed out on the deck as the sun began to set over the tree line across the lake from us.
Though a gentle chill had settled over us, Sue was determined to sleep outside on the deck. She had done this many times in the past, and had looked forward to being able to do it again on this visit. So she gathered up a pillow and some blankets, and settled onto a wicker couch. She loved it!
It was a busy few days, but just a lot of fun!

Rezleigh in motion, sort of as she's just beginning to not only stand but try to walk! 10 months and going strong!
