Sue and I took Mia for a birthday kayaking treat on the Merrymeeting River Friday 06/23/23.

But first we all took Beau for a walk out to the waterfalls on one of the local community trails.

Sue took Mia in her kayak, and they led the way under the Route 11 bridge.

Mia was having so much fun helping Sue with the paddles she had bought for her, that later when we pulled over to have lunch, I moderated her as she took Sue's kayak out all by herself.

When she got back to the house, Mia wanted to do some watercolors with Sue, and so they set up shop out on the screen porch.

This is the tool box we asked a friend of ours to build for Mia's birthday, and what a thing of beauty it was! And you can tell from her expression that she loved it. I mean really: who gets a custom made tool box for their birthday?
