We just had a very nice relaxing Memorial Day weekend. Our friend Nancy came up on Sunday the 28th to help celebrate our first use of the grill.

I opened a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc to go with the grilled chicken thighs marinated in a really nice honey glaze barbecue sauce, accompanied by a great salad that Sue put together.

And then on Monday, Sue and I loaded the kayaks up onto the car, and headed off for our first kayak adventure. Because it was a little windy, we decided to go on the Merrymeeting River, as we always enjoy that ride.

We were tired when we got home, though! But nice to have gotten out on the water after a long winter of deep snow!

On Tuesday the 30th, we decided to drive up along the western shore of Lake Winnipesaukee and into Meredith, NH. It was a beautiful day, and we knew that the roads would be clear of the holiday traffic. We had a really lovely dinner at Lago at the head of the lake, sitting in the enclosed porch looking out over the water. Perfect...
