07/04/21 4th of July Weekend

We had a pretty low key 4th of July Weekend, and glad that we hadn't planned anything because it rained for literally days....

We got some nice pictures of Sue's flower and vegetable gardens on the brief occasions when it wasn't raining. Before the rains, it had been so hot that we were afraid we'd lose some of the flowers as many were slumped over in despair. But they all came back once they got a couple of soakings!

Saturday the 3rd, Sue took The Beau Dog and me for a walk along the Mad River. It was nice to see water flowing from all of the rain. Sue had said that before getting the current rain, the river was just pooled, and barely trickling over the dam.

After getting back from walking Beau, Sue wanted to see if we could find this 'Seconds To Go' antique shop south of us. I'm glad we took the time to find it as it's one of the most interesting that I've been in. I had a ball!

Mia catches her first fish! Proud dad Gary helps her display it. Marissa had taken a short movie of this and you can hear Mia exclaim, "I don't want to kiss it!!!!" right after pulling the fish up onto the dock, so Gary must have been teasing her about what she had to do if she caught one....
