Sue had asked what I wanted to do for my birthday celebration, and I said that I'd like to have a nice dinner out at Shibley's At The Pier in Alton Bay.

Earlier in the day, Sue took me strawberry picking at Butternut Farm. It was a beautiful day, not too hot with just a touch of a nice breeze. Couldn't have been any nicer. And, we picked 5 containers of some of the best strawberries I think we've ever had from there.

Colin and Swayzie swung by the house around 4:30 before we all headed over to Shibley's at 5:30 to meet up with Marissa and Gary. Sue had fixed a great cream cheese, apple butter, bacon and pumpkin seeds dip as a pre-appetizer to the appetizers we ordered at the restaurant.

Because of the covid situation, we had take-out food from Shibley's a few times over the course of the last year, but this was the first dine in experience in too long a time. Colin and Chuck had come for lunch out on the deck when Chuck was out here, but this was Sue and my first time back for a nice sit down meal. And we had not only a great time, but wonderful food.

It was something like 10:00 pm when Sue and I got back to the house. Though we were pretty tired, we watched a short episode of a mindless house hunting show on tv to sort of unwind from the day. But after that, Sue was gone.

I, however, in my infinite wisdom, decided that I'd stay up, watch the 2010 movie, The Social Network and have a celebratory birthday Dr. Jack Daniels covering the rocks as a night cap. That, indeed, was a night... cap...
