09/20/20: Driving Aunt Carol

Sunday 09/20/20 Sue and I took Beau up with us to take Sue's 84 year old Aunt Carol on another foliage driving adventure through the mountains.

We always go up through Wolfeboro on 28, and pick up 16 in Ossipee for the final 5 miles north on 16. We went up around noon and northbound on 16 was fine. But from where 28 hooks into 16, traffic coming south was bumper to bumper 5 mph all the way to where 25 crosses 16. It must have taken those folks heading home from the weekend hours just to the Hampton tolls on south I95.

We stopped along the way at the Irving in Ossipee, and picked up sausage dogs for all of us for lunch. Beau was so excited to see Carol that he almost jumped out of the car window before I could pull into the short driveway. He knew just where we were, and couldn't wait to bound up the stairs. Of course, Carol spoils the shit out of him with treats.

By 1:00 we were off. For this trip, we went up again to the Moultonborough area, but we got there by driving up over Ossipee Mountain Road. What a lovely drive that was. Even The Beau Dog enjoyed it!

Again, we kept the drive short for Carol, and were back at her place by 2:00. I'll bet she slept good that night. It's nice to get her out to see the beauty of the Nature in the mountains. I know it means a lot to her, and it means a lot to me that we can provide just a little fun for her.

We were home just before 4:00, got squared away, played a little backgammon before dinner, and just had a nice relaxing evening.
