Saturday 09/12/20 Sue got a lunch packed up for us and we headed off to go Kayaking On Lily Pond over in Barnstead, NH.
Though the morning had started our really chilly, the sun had come out by the time we left, and warmed things up nicely. We had a nice paddle around the pond, but it's fairly small, and only took us an hour and a half with a leisurely stop for lunch. After stacking the kayaks on top of the car, we decided to take a long roundabout drive back home
Sue had remembered one of the back roads, but wasn't sure where it came out. An 'explore', as Winnie-the-Pooh would put it ensued. It was so nice driving through those areas even though the leaves have not begun to change just yet.
Sue recognized where we were and told me to take a left turn which led us over to Rollins Pond. We had kayaked there 08/26/18 on our Kayaking and Mushroom Feast trip. It's a very small pond, but pretty. It was nice to have found it.
We got back home about 3:00 pm, and The Beau Dog was very happy to see us return. Shortly after that, Cathay called Sue and invited us over to sit around their fire pit to watch the stars after dinner. We bundled up in our fleece jackets as the temperature was even then starting to drop. Good thing as it was really chilly if you sat too far away from the fire.
Sue brought marshmallows, chocolate bars, and sticks, and we all roasted Smores over the fire. And the stars were out in force! What a great time sitting around the fire in the chill of an early Autumn night.
