Going just a little stir crazy here not being able to go out to dinner, so Steve and Cathy suggested we have a take out dinner party at their house Friday evening 06/26/20.
Even The Beau Dog was invited! So, off we went with our contribution — other than The Beau Dog — with the wine, and what turned out to be a spectacular cardamom blueberry ice cream that Sue had churned herself the day before.
When we got there, I popped open the wine, and we had just a few sips before Steve and I were off to Shibley's At The Pier in Alton Bay to pick up our meals that he had ordered.
The food, though just a little pricey, is really good. We've never had a bad meal from them, and this was no exception — even though this was take out because of the current COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
In the middle of our visit, Chuck sent me a picture of him wearing the socks that he had sent to me for my birthday that I had sent back to him for his birthday.
Chuck just couldn't keep from opening those socks....
After dinner, Sue and Cathy drove up the road to the ponds to take some pictures of the sunset. Sue caught some spectacular views over the pond, capturing what little of the Sahara Desert sand that had blown across the ocean, and was currently moving over the Eastern Seaboard.
A really nice evening with good food, and friends.
Before we left, Sue led me around to the front of the house to see what I've always referred to as 'Tiger Lilies' starting to bloom. They're my favorite daylily, though technically they're called 'Original Orange Lilies'. There is a Tiger Lily, but it's got more dramatic striping to it; we're looking for some.... They just sort of sprang up since the last time I had looked!
In the screen house sipping some wine before heading out to get the dinners.
Texting Chuck as he sent me a picture of him wearing the birthday socks that he had sent to me that I had sent back to him for his birthday - which is Sunday.
Cathy, Steve, and Sue giving me a hard time about Chuck and me texting back and forth about these birthday socks....

Sue got these 2 really nice shots, capturing what little of the Sahara Desert sand that had blown across the ocean, and was currently moving over the Eastern Seaboard.
