03/17/20: St. Patrick's Day and Thursday Snow

Sue and I woke up to about an inch of snow St. Patrick's Day morning 03/17/20, followed by another storm on Thursday!

And then it snowed even harder overnight Thursday 03/19!

We had to go out to the accountant's office late morning, and the roads up here on the mountain were pretty slick. By the time we got down in the "flat lands" there was no snow, but just a light drizzle of chilly rain.

With all of this COVID-19 virus emerging, we headed back home, though we did stop and get coffee and sandwiches on the way. Fortunately, at this point we don't have any appointments or other scheduled events. We're stocked up on food and good red wine so all set to just stay inside and hope this thing blows itself out soon.

Tuesday 03/17 St. Patrick's Day!

Sue read on the local town web page where someone suggested putting green shamrocks in the window so moms who had kids home because the schools had closed due to the virus warnings could drive around and see them.

She also put out a few of our St. Patrick's decorations. This is a shot of a little green stuffed elf leaning against a vase of fresh flowers.

We took a short trip out to the grocery store, and so many of the shelves like these were bare.

Despite the uncertainty we're all under with the unknowns of this virus, we still wanted to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a little wine, backgammon, and some of the great Spaghetti Bolognese from Saturday night.

Thursday 03/19 Snow Again
So, the snow from Tuesday had melted away, but flash forward just a couple of days to Thursday and here we go again!

Snowing pretty hard, and the backyard is covered with over an inch.

And then by early afternoon the snow stopped but the fog rolled across the mountain! This is a shot out of the library windows into the woods across the road at the fog tucked among the trees.
