Sue and I had a wonderful Sunday topped off with a good bottle of wine and my version of the Indian dish, Chicken Vindaloo — a terrific medley of far eastern spices served over couscous.

First thing Sue wanted to take Beau for a walk. I decided that would be a good time to head off to the store to do the shopping for dinner. As I came over the ridge, the scene before me was just so breath-taking that I not only had to stop to get a picture of it, but I called Sue and told her she just couldn't miss it.
Because it had been so hot out the day before, and the night relatively cold, there were these dense pockets of fog blanketing parts of the valley. Stunning. I took the first picture, but Sue got the next two.
I got back home just a few minutes before Sue returned from her walk with Beau. We got the food put away, and Sue thought that because it was so warm and sunny out that we could clean up the caulking on the first floor windows that Art had done Friday. That took a little longer than expected, but we got them done and washed up.
As we were putting things away, Sue looked at Beau and told him that because it was such a nice day out that maybe he'd like a bath. Not exactly knowing what that meant, he was, of course, excited to go outside. I left them to it, but I'm pretty sure he was surprised at getting doused with the hose — pretty cold straight from the well — and having his furry body soaked in heavy shampoo.
A somewhat dejected Beau Dog curled up on the porch with his fur all tussled and wet from his ordeal under the hose.
While Beau sulked, I poured out some wine, and Sue and I played about 10 games of backgammon until it was time for me to get going with dinner prep. What fun we had in the kitchen together! Man, it just doesn't get any better than that!
