3rd Blizzard In 11 Days 03/13/18

Well, this is interesting: our 3rd Blizzard In 11 Days! I'm looking out the window with snow coming down so hard that it's tough seeing the trees in the backyard. We ultimately ended up with 26 inches being dumped on us up here with surrounding areas from 8 to 14 inches. We've not got a total of 36 inches of snow on the ground now! It was quite a storm!

It's been snowing since early morning, and the projection is for over a foot today with perhaps as much as another 3 to 5 inches tomorrow. This is the 3rd major storm to hit in 11 days, and New England is hunkered down for the worst. Most business are closed, and literally thousands of airline flights have been canceled.

Sue caught this great picture of the barn at the height of the blizzard.

Another shot, this time with the house.

In the last storm, 1,000,000 people lost power, and even now some of those still haven't been restored. This storm is projected to knock out more service than the last one because the snow is heavier and the wind is brutal.

Sue shoveled about 3 inches off the steps and walkways this morning when she took Beau out snowshoeing. We both went out about 2:00pm and shoveled another 9 inches.

Beau in snow deeper than he is tall!

I'm just letting the driveway stack up as I have no interest in trying to push the blower through this stuff. I've asked one of our neighbors who has an excavation company and does plowing if he could come by tomorrow and do all of that for us.

As the snow came down, Sue and I just decided to spend Tuesday afternoon watching a couple hours of the 1995 six-episode British television drama series Pride and Prejudice staring Colin Firth. We did the other episodes over the next few days, thoroughly enjoying this great dramatic series again.

Had to get all that snow off the roof not only to prevent ice dams, but also just the enormous weight.

The snow just kept coming down.

Between the tree and the shed is the back of the wooden lawn chair we leave out. It eventually got covered; that's how deep the snow got!

Beau dwarfed by the piled up snow on the walkway.

Beau looks like he wants to help, but he really only wants to play!

You can barely see there's a dog down there!

There's a red car somewhere under that mountain of snow!

Dave Marsters of Marsters Excavation needed his tractor to clear the driveway!
