Sue and I have both wanted to try to replicate the Italian dinner we learned how to prepare when we went to The Culinary Playground in Derry, NH. We had been so excited about it that I had bought a pasta machine so we could make our own pasta as we did that night.
I bought a bottle of a nice red blend to go with the Bolognese sauce that turned out to be a perfect compliment to the meal. We sipped a glass of that while playing backgammon for an hour or so before we had to head into the kitchen.
I figured that with all the prep work and making the pasta from scratch this was going to be about a 2 hour event. And that's just about what it turned out to be.
The pasta machine coupled with really good instructions and experience from the class really made all the difference in the world as to our experience this time in making pasta from scratch. There were several steps that the chef had emphasized during his presentation that we had not done before. This time we nailed it! The meal came out just super!
