Sunday 11/29/15 Sue and I hosted another Thanksgiving at our home for Colin and Ren, Marissa and Gary, and little, wide-eyed Mia.

Sue and I were up early Sunday morning to get the local fresh turkey which I had picked up Saturday going. I was doing Master Chef James Haller's turkey recipe. Though pretty straight forward, I also had to do all the prep for my beans in a garlic, shallot, red pepper, red wine, and mushroom saute. I had to get done and out of the way so Sue could fix her dishes. She did up her great sweet potato casserole, stuffing, and what turned out to be a magnificent pumpkin swirl cheese cake for desert. Whew!
Everyone arrived about 12:30pm. We had all of the work done, so we could sit down in the living room and have a nice chat. It was really something how Mia now recognizes her name and will turn in your direction. And the smile is to die for!
I had planned to eat at 2:00pm but got so involved in conversation that Marissa had to spur me off to the kitchen to get the beans fixed. But not bad: everything was on the table by 2:20 when we sat down. I had opened a nice bottle of 2013 Louis Martini Cabernet that was met with polite "We'll pass...." from our more beer oriented crowd. But Sue, Ren, and I enjoyed it! Mia was indifferent about the whole thing.
