The Great 2011 St. Patricks Day Backgammon Tournament And Deep Pot Irish Stew Surprise 03/19/11

Time for a backgammon party and what better excuse than St. Patrick's Day! So, on Saturday 03/19/11 I held The Great 2011 St. Patricks Day Backgammon Tournament And Deep Pot Irish Stew Surprise.

Current Picture

There were 10 of us, most getting in quite a few games through the evening. Not much trash-talking though. What's up with that?

And the Irish stew came out super! Unfortunately, for some, the same can't be said for the movie of the night which none of the girls like at all.

This is an interesting shot that Sue took off the back deck the night before. It was the brightest full moon since December 12, 2008, 14% larger because it was at it's perigee. Very spectacular.

Current Picture

Scott and Linda arrived first and we got the party going in full swing.

Current Picture

These two wasted no time in stirring up trouble - while I stirred the pot!

Current Picture

Rick arrives with coffee at the ready. It lasted him most of the night.

Current Picture

They just look like friends.

Current Picture

Linda wondering when the food will be ready.

Current Picture

The guys just can't believe what she's doing.

Current Picture

Scott trying to remain composed under Sue's new-found trash talking skills.

Current Picture

As you can see, she is basically ignoring my trash talk. And I was the one who taught her! My bad....

Current Picture

Supervision from the teacher.

Current Picture

Linda safely making comments from the sidelines and staying out of it.

Current Picture

Chris and Jim arrive and took no time getting into things.

Current Picture

Sometimes it's more fun to stir the pot and kibitz from the kitchen....

Current Picture

Sue is having none of it, however....

Current Picture

Time out to eat and then the movie of the night, a martial arts samurai chop-chop flick: Red Cliff, which none of the women liked. Come on, girls.... Really?
