Movie Night At The Garrison: The Shining 03/27/10

I had sent a note out inviting my friends over for a Movie Night At The Garrison: The Shining. This was the first of three classic suspense thrillers that I'll host over the next couple of months. I was fortunate to have been able to get it in Blu-ray from NetFlix. And it was terrific!

I guess everyone wanted to get together, play some backgammon, chow down on pizza, and see this great movie because there were 8 of us. So, it sort of morphed into a somewhat major event. In fact, I ordered 4 pizzas and there wasn't much left. Plus, we polished off the lemon crunch cake that the Nancarrow's brought and most of the chocolate silk ice cream that Linda contributed.

Longer movie than I was expecting, though. Almost two and half hours, so it was a late night getting out despite the fact that I started it at just a little after 8:00pm. And then after everyone had left, I, of course, could not go to bed without watching some of the special features on the disk. It was after midnight before I hit the rack....

And this was just after I hit a huge throw against Linda. She was obviously impressed with the magic....

Linda and I got a littl distracted from all the commotion at one of the other boards. Can't remember who it was or what was going on, but it had to have been pretty sweet!

Rick, unfortunatly, got his ass kicked pretty good by Linda who did a full 3 game set skunk on him. That's fine with me as it gets him back from kicking my ass Thursday night when we played after karate class. Did I mention that I was a 9 point loser? Yeah. Terrific....

Chris and Rick pausing from the action just long enough to eat.

Brian is only smiling because he was really throwing hot. He creamed me for 6 points. Good going, Brian. Coming to class Thursday, are you? Good....
