It's been a crummy summer with all the rain and coolness; just a few weeks of really nice weather. So, here we find ourselves at the end of the summer that wasn't: Labor Day 2006 and I thought, well we should have a backgammon party! Unfortunately, no one caught the joke in the party title "... with summer squash summer kick off". I thought we'd just ignore the official end of summer and continue right on as the weather has been really nice, though very cool in the evenings, sometimes almost like early fall. |

Rick Downs in the bull pen waiting for the current game to finish so he can get in and mix it up - which he did, recovering from an earlier in the week cold spell. |
I told Scott I was going to put him on the bar to rest for awhile. Does he look like he cares? No, not here. But someone should have got the shot of him when he continued to sit up there for about six more throws while I spun my checkers around the board and almost caught him in a gammon. |
Got distracted here with a call from Colin that he was on the way which just gave Scott longer to squirm until I could throw again so he could see if he was coming off the bar or just going to sleep up there for the rest of the night. |
Tim was throwing pretty hot all night. I think he is setting Scott up for their game. Not sure if it worked or not, but - again - Scott just seems unaffected by the bad talk. |
Hey, let's go! Food's up and we're ready to eat! Dice down! No respect... |
Colin taking a break from playing. He went into the library to peer over Ashley's shoulder as she and Marissa wandered the web rather than face the dance of death going on in the other room. I think Colin was hoarse from all the yelling and complaining that was coming from his side of the board. He didn't say how his score for the night was - tore up his game card so who knows. |

Finally! Rick kicks off the food line with everyone else close behind. |

Do not bother the animals when they are feeding... |
Ashley fading someone's picture taking attack. I think she didn't want anyone to know that she actually liked the dinner. Marissa thought it was hysterical. |
