New Year's Eve day I shopped for dinner and wandered Best Buy comparring computer prices - and Barns and Noble bookstore - I love bookstores. Then home to fix my cornish game hens in the special Blue Strawberry sauce that James Haller taught me some 30 years ago. Colin came over and we had a grand time; watched the movie Into the Blue. Marissa fell in love with that movie and bought it. I've seen it now twice and shes seen it about 6 times - it's paid for itself about three times over. It's actually pretty good; very well done and the underwater scenes are some of the most spectacular I have seen. Good plot and the acting is pretty good. Sort of a treasure hunt adventure meets drug trafficing and good over evil type thing. |

You can tell by all the stuff covering my hands that I am well on my way to getting the cornish game hens done - with the all important bottle of cabernet at the ready. Marissa had climbed up on the opposite counter to get this shot. |

The hens just about ready to go into the oven for the first searing round by getting a good dose of Thyme and Paparika. I just love doing this stuff! |

A shot of the table just before sitting down to eat. |
Marissa's smile was so bright, the flash didn't go off... |
You can only imagine what Colin is saying under his breath about stopping with the pictures and getting on with the eating part. |

It had started to snow lightly New Year's Eve and by morning New Year's day, we had a nice covering to wake up to. The fields behind my unit were so pretty in the new snow and overcast hues. |
But, by later in the day the plow had come and the maintenance crew had blown the loose snow from the walkways and stoops. |
Marissa didn't have much snow to brush off her car before she headed over to a friend's. The huge snow hill from the last big storm can be seen in the background though it is only about half the size that it was. That was some storm.. |
