Interior Painting Work 02/23/17

Sue and I drove up to the New Durham house Thursday 02/23/17 to see how the painters made out after 2 days of work, and to see the new stairs Steve was finishing up.

Mike and Dennis had come over from Maine on Tuesday, worked all day, slept over, and worked all day Wednesday. They'll be back in a week or so to put the second coat on the walls and finish the touch up work.

I had seen the start of the project when I was up Tuesday, and was excited for Sue to have a look. She also hadn't seen the great progress on the stairs that Steve had made.

We got there just before 11:30am, and David Marsters was already there waiting for us with a cord of wood dumped to the side of the barn. We had a nice chat with him before going into the house.

We were both just totally knocked out with how great everything looked! Sue hit the colors right on it, keeping with the period and character of the house.

Before heading out, Sue started lugging some of the wood off of the pile and locating it inside the porch on the holder we had bought. The last task was to then spread a tarp over the pile to keep the snow off.

After driving to the Post Office to grab our mail, which we've had to do since the town snow plow cleaved off our mail box from its post, we drove out to Merrymeeting Lake. The only time I had ever seen the lake was when Sue and I looked at a house there.

We only drove out along the north shore and back because we had to get home. But in the Spring we want to come back and explore the south shore and vist the New Hampshire Fish Hatchery.

Not a very good shot of the first coat of flat ceiling paint or matte walls, but Steve did a great job cutting out around the ceilings and patching in new runners. You can see the new bluish-green colonial trim contrasted with the previous rather ugly olive-gold color on the radiators.
