I held my 2010 Disciple Retreat again at my home in Dover, NH this year. Last year was just a single day, but this year we actually had everyone on board for Thursday evening's class and we went right through until about 1:00pm on Sunday afternoo.
Everyone met at my home Friday morning at 7:30am for coffee and donuts, and I bagan my opening remarks by 8:30am. We took about a half hour break around noon for delivered Chinese food, and worked straight through until about 7:00pm for dinner, though I had some cinnamon spiced hot apple cider with cheese and turkey kielbassa again during the mid-afternoon sessions.
As we did last year, it was just Barilla spaghetti and Tuscan garlic bread for dinner. A nice way to cap off the intensity of a pretty long day, though I kept going until just after 10:00pm with my presentations from the 15 or so reference books I had stacked next to my chair.
I didn't get to bed until after mid-night as I was talking with Yondan Russ Jones from Laconia, NH who had opted to stay over rather than do a long commute and Sandan Carl Parker who had flown in Thursday night from Albuquerque, NM.
Saturday was another long day though we did have a nice break for dinner out to Christopher's Third Street Grille. Though the food was excellent as always, it's just too noisy in there for the type of conversations that we were trying to have. I had specifically chosen Christopher's over say Cartelli's Bar and Grill because of the noise level there. Oh well....
