I remain actively sharing martial arts training through Rose School of Karate, and am the Senior Grandmaster of the Governing Council of C&S Self Defense Association.
I follow and teach my students the basic Hopi principle of life: "Seek the way to conduct our lives in friendship and peace, without anger, without greed, without wickedness of any kind, among ourselves or in our association with any people."
Real Estate Investment
I began investing in real estate in 1973 through my firm Christian Shores Investment Company, as well as obtaining a NH Real Estate Broker license, which I keep active through continuing education requirements. After retiring as a Senior Software Engineer in 2015, I began to liquidate my portfolio, though I continue to consult on real estate and real estate finance when called upon.
Based on my success in real estate investing, I opened Seapoint Mortgage in 1981 obtaining NH 1st and 2nd Mortgage Broker licenses, and Maine State 2nd Mortgage Broker License, and Maine State Arranger of Credit License. Unfortunately, the economy was imploding at the time, and when offered a position doing software development in 1982, I closed the firm.
Software Engineering
I began my software engineering career in 1982 at C-Line, Portsmouth, NH. Went on as Senior Java/J2EE Programmer/Analyst specializing in web based business applications. Analysis, design, coding, and full Object Oriented life cycle development from front end GUI (JSP/Servlets/J2EE frameworks, HTML/CSS, XML, and JavaScript) through business object layer to JDBC using J2EE, Java Web Services, Agile best practices methodologies and standards. Solid analytical, programmatic, organizational, and communication skills.
Establish Riverside Software Development in 2014 preparing for retirement career to provide consulting expertise in the areas of: business process analysis, requirements gathering, analysis, design and development for either a new application, or for project enhancements to an existing application. Expertise in developing small and enterprise level browser based business applications in the Java programming language using J2EE technologies, Object Oriented Analysis and Design, User Requirements Gathering, and Full Project Life Cycle Analysis, Design, and Development.
Business Experience
Established several small businesses as well as developed business plans and financing proposals.
Through my 33 year career as a Senior Software Engineer specializing in the requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, and maintenance of web based business applications, I developed expertise in over 30 diverse problem domains. In one position that I held, I was so adapt at bridging the gap between the technical aspects of a project and its underlying business models that they created a new position for me as Senior Technical Business Analyst where I was given responsibility for a series of diverse projects.
Current business efforts include Longwood Currency Trading, a proprietary world FOREX foreign currency market trading firm which also provides fee based education and consultancy.
