Colin's 21st Birthday Dinner - 04/12/08

I asked Colin what he wanted to do for his 21st birthday dinner, and he requested dinner at The Texas Roadhouse in Newington. So after he got out of work, Adrianne picked me up at my place, we drove down to pick him, Marissa, and Gary up and we were off!

Well, Saturday night at The Roadhouse is a zoo - there were people everywhere. We had called in early to get a waiting spot, but it was still well over an hour from the time the call ahead went in until we were seated.

And of course I had to embarass Colin to death by telling our waitress that it was his birthday. Later in the evening they brought the saddle around and we made him sit in it. Great fun!

After seeing our table number 233 flash on the outside alert board, we piled out of the car and headed for the doors!

Settled into our booth with drinks in hand. I bought Colin his first legal beer, a Corona Extra with a lime, but I'm not real sure what he really thought of it. But better than one of those fruit drinks that if you're not used to will make you sick. A beer is just fine...

There were quite a few folks celebrating birthdays and so Colin had plenty of time to squirm in his seat waiting for this moment he knew would come for him. After prying him out of the booth and onto the saddle, one of the waitresses jumped up on the bench and called everyones attention to the fact that we had a birthday boy with us. And then all the gathered waitresses got eveyone in the place to "Yeeeeee-HAW!". Oh, yeah, baby. Now, that's the way to do it! As you can see from the picture, Gary just can't believe it.

And here's the birthday boy trying his best to be a good sport about it and bear up under the pressue while Marissa almost chokes on her food in the background. Nice, Ris. Real nice...

Well... enough of that.

A night view of The Texas Roadhouse around 9:30pm - and there was still a huge waiting line inside! If you look closely, you can see Colin coming out of the shadows to the right.

Colin on the move proving that at 21, you can walk and talk on a cell phone at the same time! This is adulthood at its finest!
